The Night Huntress Series By Jeaniene Frost

Jeaniene Frost broke into the urban fantasy scene with Halfway to the Grave in October 2007 and it was an instant success.

Cat Crawfield as the half-breed vampire killer with a take no shit attitude and a small town midwestern girl's heart instantly won the love of vampire/urban fantasy fans.

Of course her vampire boyfriend, Bones, helped win those fans as well. Reminiscent of Buffy's Spike-only with more swagger and a lot more sex appeal, Bones is a cockney British accented, bad ass, bounty hunter that decides to take Cat under his wing and into his bed- much to every one's delight.

Flirting With The Grave...

Half-vampire Catherine Crawfield is going after the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these deadbeats is her father – the one responsible for ruining her mother's life. Then she's captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, and is forced into an unlikely partnership.

In exchange for help finding her father, Cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as his fangs. She's amazed she doesn't end up as his dinner – are there actually good vampires? Pretty soon Bones will have her convinced that being half-dead doesn't have to be all bad. But before she can enjoy her status as kick-ass demon hunter, Cat and Bones are pursued by a group of killers. Now Cat will have to choose a side ... and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat.

In April 2008 HALFWAY TO THE GRAVE won the Romantic Times Reviewers Choice award for best urban fantasy.

The follow up to her successful debut novel, One Foot in the Grave, hit shelves in late April of 2008 and was quickly devoured by fans. It debuted at #9 on the New York Times bestseller list, #45 on the USA Today bestseller list, and #2 on the Borders Romance bestseller list!

Cat should have known that sooner or later Bones would find her. What she didn't bargain for was that she would be so relieved when he did. Living without him had been torture.

You can run from the grave, but you can't hide...

Half-vampire Cat Crawfield is now Special Agent Cat Crawfield, working for the government to rid the world of the rogue undead. She's still using everything Bones, her sexy and dangerous ex, taught her, but when Cat is targeted for assassination, the only man who can help her is the vampire she left behind.

Being around Bones awakens all her emotions, from the adrenaline rush of slaying vamps side by side to the reckless passion that consumed them. But a price on her head - wanted: dead or half-alive - means her survival depends on teaming up with Bones. And no matter how hard Cat tries to keep things professional between them, she'll find that desire lasts forever ... and Bones won't let her get away again.

The third book in the series, At Grave's End, hit book shelves late December 2008 and debuted at #11 on the New York Times bestseller list and #51 on the USA Today bestseller list!

There's never a dull moment when you're a vampire...or half vampire. Some one's always out to get you. This time the someone is bigger and badder than ever and may mean the end of Bones...which will surely be the end of Cat as well.

Some Things Won't Stay Buried ... At Grave's End

It should be the best time of half-vampire Cat Crawfield's life. With her undead lover Bones at her side, she's successfully protected mortals from the rogue undead. But though Cat's worn disguise after disguise to keep her true identity a secret from the brazen bloodsuckers, her cover's finally been blown, placing her in terrible danger.

As if that wasn't enough, a woman from Bones's past is determined to bury him once and for all. Caught in the crosshairs of a vengeful vamp, yet determined to help Bones stop a lethal magic from being unleashed, Cat's about to learn the true meaning of bad blood. And the tricks she's learned as a special agent won't help her. She will need to fully embrace her vampire instincts in order to save herself – and Bones – from a fate worse than the grave.

Frost's newest release is Destined for an Early Grave, just released July 28, it debuted at #7 on the New York Times, #38 on the USA Today, and #5 on the Publishers Weekly bestsellers lists. It also went into a second printing after just one week.

One of the best of the series so far Destined for an early grave is a non-stop roller coaster ride you won't want to get off of.

Since half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her undead lover Bones met six years ago, they've fought against the rogue undead, battled a vengeful Master vampire, and pledged their devotion with a blood bond. Now it's time for a vacation. But their hopes for a perfect Paris holiday are dashed when Cat awakes one night in terror. She's having visions of a vampire named Gregor who's more powerful than Bones and has ties to her past that even Cat herself didn't know about.

Gregor believes Cat is his and he won't stop until he has her. As the battle begins between the vamp who haunts her nightmares and the one who holds her heart, only Cat can break Gregor's hold over her. She'll need all the power she can summon in order to bring down the baddest bloodsucker she's ever faced . . . even if getting that power will result in an early grave.

Frost weaves magic with her words creating a hard hitting, gritty urban fantasy/paranormal romance series that is witty, sexy and sizzling while packing a punch that will leave you breathless yet wanting more. It's book crack at it's best.

For Night Huntress fans there is great news, not only do you have a minimum of three more Cat and Bones books in the Night Huntress series (so far 7 books with Cat and Bones have been contracted) you are also going to get spin off books set in the Night Huntress world featuring side characters like Bones's best friend Charles (Spade) and Cat's friend Denise who will be the main characters in the first spin off First Drop of Crimson. The second book is supposed to feature Mencheres. Both books will be released in 2010. The bad news is that there is no word when the next Cat and Bones book will be out.

For vampire fans this is a series not to be missed. Fun, sexy, with dark moments, agonizing what ifs, and lots of action- this is a series that will appeal to many- male or female.

Sure it has the romantic elements and is labled as romantic urban fantasy but this series can not be labeled strictly romance, it is serious urban fantasy with some romantic elements and some very sizzling sex scenes but it is also full of action and well written character interaction with complex and believable characters in a very wild world where vampires, ghouls, ghosts and more exist.

Personally I am seriously addicted to this series. It is totally FANGTASTIC.

Frost definitely has one of the best vampire series out there! I love Cat and Bones- can't read them fast enough. I'm really looking forward to the spin off from the Night Huntress world. I read the excerpt at the back of Destined For An Early Grave and Spade's story already has me anxiously waiting.

Excellent! If anyone hadn't had the chance to dig on Cat and Bones and the gang, this would entice the hell out of them, grab the keys and head out to the bookstore to load up.
