Keys to the Repository came out this month and is a guide or handbook of sorts to the Blue Bloods series by Melissa de la Cruz.
There is a great quote at the beginning of the book that reads,
"The possession of knowledge does not kill the sense of wonder and mystery. There is always more mystery." ~Anais Nin
For me, this is as much with books as with life! Hopefully you'll find this book fitting with the series as I hope to as well... I have heard this is a good, quick read with some great story detail that is left out of, or simply not in, all the other books that have already been published in the series. We may want to dive in and read more about those characters in the series, see maps of the cities, find out vampire secrets (we can hope!) and there are some new chapters from her upcoming books!
Here is the Goodreads synopsis:
"Lavish parties. Passionate meetings in the night. Bone-chilling murders. Midterms. The day-to-day life of Schuyler Van Alen and her Blue Bloods friends (and enemies) is never boring. But there's oh-so-much more to know about these beautiful and powerful teens. Below the streets of Manhattan, within the walls of the Repository, exists a wealth of revealing information about the vampire elite that dates back before the Mayflower. In a series of short stories, journal entries, and never-before-seen letters, New York Times bestselling author Melissa de la Cruz gives her hungry fans the keys to the Repository and an even more in-depth look into the secret world of the Blue Bloods. Won't you come inside?"
Keep an eye out for the next books in the series:
Misguided Angel (Blue Bloods, Book 5) on Oct. 26, 2010.
Bloody Valentine (A Blue Bloods Novella) on Dec 28, 2010.
At first I wasn't sold on this series, if you remember my first review of book one, but it is just a different take on vampires and now I really, really enjoy this series and can't wait for the next one! I think so far, book 3 was my favorite and book 4 was quite good as well. Any one else reading them and waiting for the next ones? Word has it that Melissa de la Cruz is also coming out with a werewolf series... Wolf Pact (Wolf Pact #1), slated for 2011.
On Goodreads it just reads:
"Wolf Pact is a spinoff in the Blue Bloods starring Bliss Llewellyn, a central character in the Blue Bloods novels, as she goes on a quest to find the legendary Hounds of Hell and convince them to join the Blue Blood vampires in their war against the Silver Bloods."
Happy reading all!
