Giveaway! DARK PRINCE - Author's Cut Special Edition

DARK PRINCE, a special Author's Cut edition by Christine Feehan, hits bookstores today!  But you don't even have to leave the house to get a copy because by commenting on this post you have a chance to win a copy generously donated to VampChix by the publisher.  Here's more about the book:

DARK PRINCE was the first book in the series that launched a movement, as Feehan penned this novel years ago, before our culture embraced paranormal media. “Nobody was talking vampires at that time,”she said. “The print run was sold out in two weeks. The popularity for this type of book grew from there.”

Feehan recently opened up to Author Magazine  about her inspiration to create the Carpathian people, which helped her to work through the grief of losing her son. “I used to tell him stories of dragons and heroes all the time, and when he died I felt as if I was walking through my life rather than experiencing it. When I turned to my writing to get me through it, the Carpathians were born. They experienced the lack of emotion and color as I felt I was doing, and they felt sorrow at the loss of their children as I was. The paranormal element was for him, for his love of the stories I told him.”

I have always loved vampire books - I think the first one I read was the first Vampire academy - and not the new release of them - back in the early 90's when they first came out. After that I moved on to Dracula and have been hooked since :)

I cannot wait until Vampire Mine and Dark Prince are released. I love your books...and I think my favorite will always be "How to marry a Millionaire Vampire". I never laughed so hard reading a romance book.

My favorite Feehan books are her Leopard series. I love shape-shifters!
I started reading vampire novels about three years ago. Picking a favorite book almost seems as hard as picking a favorite child. I love all the series and authors I have read for different reasons. I like how each author takes the theme of vampires and makes it their own. Falling into all the different worlds is a wonderful escape. My favorite genre would be Paranormal Romance.

I fell into vampire novels when I was reading historical romance and reading through Lynsay Sands books. I have been an addict ever sense. Jennifer Armintrout's Blood Ties novels and the Twilight Saga are my favorites.

My first vamp book was Stephen King's "Salem's Lot", read for a high school english class project. I've always been a fan of everything 'other-worldly' :)

I cut my PR teeth on Feehan. She is the one to blame for my addiction. I loved how the stories followed a set of rules and the occasional reappearance of a couple that you had fallen in love with earlier. I especially like her "Reunion" book as this was a word I always used when talking about a series that I loved.

I love all the Christine Feehan books I have read but by far my favorite is "Water Bound" It is the first time I have read a romance that handled a woman with autism as one of the protagonists. And she did it with dignity.

I have been a lover of vampire books for a while. Due to busyness of my life, I actually stopped reading anything for about 8 years (a tragedy, I know). After ending that horrible chapter in my life and starting a new one I now find plenty of time to read. Twilight, Sookie Stackhouse, Vampire Academy, Black Dagger Brotherhood & others have captivated me. I have been on the search for must read authors and now have a HUGE list that Christine Feehan has been added onto.

I'm always looking for new vampire reads. When a friend introduced me to Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter series I was hooked. This is my favorite genre with vampires being the most sought after! tWarner419@ao.com

Wow, wow, thank you for the giveaway! I love Christine's book! My favourite was the second book, Dark Desire. I haven't read all of her books, but this still is my favourite. I loved Jacques' protectiveness ;)
Well, I started to read books about vampires in three years ago. My first book was Twilight, but after reading e.g. Black Dagger Brotherhood (J.R.Ward), Midnight Breed (Lara Adrian) and Night Huntress (Jeaniene Frost) series, I realizes that Twilight is awful! (sorry Twilighters!). The first in my top list is Jeaniene Frost's books with Cat and Bones, but as I said I loved Christine Feehan's book as well :)

Falcon and Sara's story by Christine Feehan is still my favorite to this day. It was one of her short stories, but I felt a connection with Sara and her dreams about Falcon.

My favourite Feehan Carpathian book is Dark Desire.

I have never red a Feehan book. What made me discover this genre was Bitten by Armstrong, which lead to the Dark Hunters by Kenyon and BDB by Ward

Lorelei said...

I have never heard of this book/author. However, I have always been a fan of vampires, and am an author of one myself and my main character lost her mother like I did when she was young, only I made her a vampire. So, the reason behind this story sort of pulled me when I read it.

I enjoy many different novels about vampires. I thought they were cool way before everyone else thought they were cool too. This one sounds very special.

The Dark Hunter series jump started my PNR addiction and I haven't looked back since.

I think my favorite Feehan books are Dark Slayer, Dark Peril and especially Dark Celebration. So much fun!
I've been fascinated by vampires for about as long as I can remember. I read Interview With the Vampire, Salem's Lot and Dracula in High School, waaay back when. Then I discovered Chelsea Quinn Yarbro's character Saint-Germain, and learned that vampires can be heroes. Since then, I've discovered so many other favorites: P.N. Elrod, Tanya Huff, J.R. Ward, Lara Adrian, Jeaniene Frost, Charlaine Harris, Kerrelyn Sparks, Lynsay Sands, as well as lots of others!

The only book book I've read by Christine Freehan was Predatory Game and I LOVED it. I started reading vampire books back when I was 16, the first one I ever read was Lynsay Sands Vampires Are Forever which to this day is my favorite.

I'm looking forward to reading Christine's books. I love the blurb I read for The Scarletti Curse and loving Shifters I'm looking into her Leopard series as well.
I can't really pick a favorite Vampire book as I love all the different stories I've read for different reasons. But it started with Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunters, JR Ward's BDB and Lynsay Sands books.

Many years ago I started reading horror and then slid over to paranormal starting with the Anita Blake series, out of order. Then the Dark Hunter series, also out of order. One day I went to Walmart and they had eight or nine Carpathian books, and I bought them all, and finally read a series in order. My favorites were Dark Prince and Dark Slayer.

I was so happy to see this hardcover release of Dark Prince and the extra included in it. Whether I get it by winning it or buy it, I'm going to get it period.

My first favorite of the Dark series is Dark Desire. I have other favorites, but Dark Desire still holds top spot. I am on my second or third copy of it now and badly need to replace it again as it's literally falling apart.

I discovered the Carpathians when Dark Symphony was released and I went looking for the other books before it and now I just auto-buy when something of hers releases.

I have not read any of this series yet but they sound great. I started out reading the more humorous vamp romance (Lynsay Sands and Kerrelyn Sparks) but have recently developed an interest in the darker vamp series. I would love to win a copy of this book to try out the series.

I absolutely love the Carpathians series, but I think my favorite Feehan books are the ones in the Drake Sisters series. I fell in love with vampires and other supernatural/preternatural creatures long ago, but I've been reading those kinds of books almost constantly since True Blood premiered and I discovered the Sookie Stackhouse books. Since November 2009, I've read over 500 books in the paranormal romance genre. :-)

I honestly can't say which Feehan book is my favorite, I have loved every one I have read. But I have been reading vampire genre books since '80 or so. My favorite would have to be the Anita Blake series, followed closely by the Riley Jensen series.
