Hello to you all. My name is Brenda Dyer. The ladies of Vamp Chix Bite Club have been kind enough to allow me time on their blog. Thank you very much for this opportunity.
Come on in and take a seat--not literally, LOL. I brought coffee, raspberry tea, Earl Gray, cookies, and donuts. Help yourselves.
I had a tough time coming up with a topic, so I decided to pick a topic we all may have in common: the love of reading romance novels. The genre of my choice is paranormal romance because that's mainly what I read and it's the genre of my debut novel, Love's Prophecy.
Once I stumbled onto paranormal romances, I ate up all I could find. And along the way, I've found some authors who have simply blown me away.
The first author whose paranormal series hooked me was Sherrilyn Kenyon. I couldn't get enough of her Dark Hunter series. One of my favorite books was Dance With The Devil. Zarek was the right amount of handsome, sexy, dark, wounded, and in need of love and saving. I fell deeply in love with him. LOL, I wanted to be the woman whose love saved him.
The next author whose series I gobbled up was Karen Marie Moning. My favorite novel from her was The Immortal Highlander. The hero from that story was Adam Black. OMG, I still get butterflies when I think of him. He was so dark, so sexy, so out of any woman's league...and when he gave up his immor...I won't spoil it for those who haven't read it yet.
The next author who snagged me good and tight was the fabulous J.R. Ward. From the first page of Dark Lover to the last page of Lover Enshrined--I haven't read passed Phury's book yet--I was in AWE! Not to mention in love with all the hunky vampire warriors. My favorite character was Vishous. I loved Z and I bleed for him, but there was just something dark and edgy about V. He grabbed my heart and made my knees weak.
LOL, I wanted to be Jane until...well for those of you who have read the book know, but I won't ruin it for those of you who haven't had the pleasure of reading it.
All of these authors have helped inspire me to write my novel, Love's Prophecy. I may never meet these wonderful ladies, but they have my deepest respect and thanks.
But there is another author who's a favorite of mine, but he doesn't write Romance. He writes Fantasy. And I must say, he has been a huge inspiration to me and the writing of my series. His name is J.R.R. Tolkien.
My love of all his works started when I was in high school. My favorite of his is The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy. I love the deep history in his worlds.
Well, I yapped your ears off long enough. Now it's your turn to have the floor.
My question to you all is, who are some of your favorite authors and why?
Also, I would like to give away a copy of my novel, Love's Prophecy. Leave your email address with your comment. And good luck to you all.
