Reviews: Shield of Fire and Kiss of the Betrayer by Boone Brux

Protecting humans is the Bringers’ duty. Sending demons to the
Shadow World is their pleasure.

In one night, Ravyn’s life plunges  from barely tolerable to deadly. Forced to flee the only home she’s known, she
stumbles headlong into the clutches of Icarus, a powerful demon intent on  stealing her powers. Unfortunately for him, she has no intention of cooperating.

When Rhys realizes the woman he’s rescued from the Bane Demon is no mere human, his obligation as a Bringer dictates he protect and train her in the ways  of his people. But he’s unprepared for the intense desire he feels for the fiery  Ravyn. To surrender to his need may mean her death.

As the Demon King’s desire for ultimate power escalates, fathers are slated against sons, and foes are made allies. The Bane threat upon them, Rhys and Ravyn must quest to unite the last of the Bringers—and explore a passion too
powerful to ignore.
Jenny's summary:
Ravyn is being attacked by demons.  The powerful demon, Icarus would love to take all her life away.  Rhys knows that as a Bringer he must help save her from the demon. But he gets more than he bargains for when he realizes that she is also a full blood bringer.  As he takes her and begins to help train her in the ways of the Bringers, he cannot help but fall for her charm.  Ravyn also finds herself unable to stop her desire for Rhys. But Icarus will not go down easily, and Ravyn and Rays must find a way to get the rest of the Bringers to working together.

For thirteen years Luc Le Daun has blamed himself for the death of the woman he loved. His secret guilt has led him into a life of danger, risking all and committing to none.

Killing Luc Le Daun has been all Jade Kendell has thought about for years. But when her plan goes awry and she’s brought into the
Bringers’ fold, her own dark secret threatens to be revealed. Desire for a better life wars with a promise made long before she understood the ramifications.

In  a deadly mission, Jade and Luc embark on a journey into the Shadow World. As  they attempt the impossible, ignoring the attraction growing between them  becomes harder to deny. The slightest misstep could mean the loss of their souls  and give the Demon King exactly what he needs to open the Abyss of Souls and annihilate the Bringers.

Jenny's summary:
Jade knows that her sister is a Bane Demon, but she is the only family that she has left.  Rell has raised Jade in the depths of the demon world and convinced her that their enemy is the man responsible for their family’s death.  Luc never wanted to come to his full power as a Bringer, but to save his life that is what Ravyn and Rhys did.  When he is attacked by Jade, and tracks her he is not prepared for what he discovers.  He had no idea that Jade is also a Bringer with powers, but her deep devotion to her sister does not allow her to see what her sister is really doing. Turning them over to Icarus, and the lies she has kept come out. In the midst of it all Luc and Jade are powerless to stop the connection they have.
Jenny's review:
Both of theses books are full of good verses evil action.  The power of the demons and the ability of the Bringers to take them down are an instant hit.  Add in some very steamy relationships and love scenes and you have yourself a story that you don’t wish to stop reading.  In each story the lovers cannot help but fall for each other over and over gain.  If you are interested in battling demons and love this is definitely the right choice for you!
