Beyond The Moon

Beyond the Moon, by Michele Hauf

"Like most immortal witches, Verity Van Velde knows how to look after herself—and she knows better than to trust any man. But then, a vampire with a grudge roughs her up and steals her precious talisman. Before long, Verity is swept up in a terrifying intrigue—and into the strong arms of a devastatingly sexy vampire hunter.
For the past four centuries, Rook has devoted himself to avenging a terrible loss. But something about the pretty witch call to him, and it's not just her long legs, sexy purple hair...or her pouty lips...or her fiery magic. Something deep inside Rook knows that Verity may be his only chance to find his soul mate—and his soul."

So much fun! Verity and Rook sizzle!

Verity, a witch, and Rook, a vampire hunter find themselves joining forces to find a vampire who has bitten Verity. A vampire-witch would be an abomination, so it is important that they destroy the rogue vamp before she turns. But it's hard to do serious hunting when you find yourselves so darn enamored with each other.
Both Verity and Rook have some serious hang-ups about relationships. She has been warned by her mother never to trust men, and he is still reeling from the loss of his wife- another witch who was burned at the stake. The two can't deny their passion for each other, but both feel that there may be more. She has carried his soul in a necklace for years, never knowing to whom it belonged. They share an emotional bond that cannot be reasoned with. Could this make them soul mates?
If they can get over their fears and stop Verity from becoming a monster, then they might just have a chance.
